Jackson Stone – Head of Athletic Development
Jackson leads the Athletic Development Department and brings deep expertise in youth athletic development, high-performance training systems and sport science integration. Holding an ASCA Level 3-E accreditation and Postgraduate Qualifications in Sport Science, he is one of a select group of elite strength and conditioning professionals nationally, with extensive experience across both school and professional sport environments.
As an Old Boy of Toowoomba Grammar School (2003-14), Jackson brings a personal connection and deep understanding of the School’s culture and values. This perspective informs his holistic approach to student development, grounded in tradition while driven by innovation and excellence.
In addition to his leadership of the School’s athletic framework, Jackson has been instrumental in strengthening external partnerships, most notably through the creation of vocational placement pathways in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland. These initiatives not only support aspiring coaches and practitioners, but also contribute to lifting the standard of regional sport and physical preparation.
Jackson’s approach reflects a strong belief in data-informed practice, cross-disciplinary collaboration and the development of young men who are physically prepared, mentally resilient, and equipped for life beyond the classroom.
David Werth – Athletic Development Coach
David plays a key role in the physical preparation and rehabilitation of student-athletes, with a particular focus on the School’s basketball and volleyball programs. Drawing on his background as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and ASCA Level 2-Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach, David provides tailored support that bridges performance training and injury management.
Originally from Toowoomba, David is passionate about contributing to the local sporting community. In addition to his work at TGS, he is actively involved as a junior coach with the Toowoomba Mountaineers Basketball program, where he supports the development of emerging talent within the region.
David brings a unique combination of skills to his role, blending applied sport science, strength and conditioning and coaching experience to create a holistic environment for student-athletes. He is deeply committed to helping young athletes return from injury stronger and more resilient, while also developing the physical tools required for success in court-based sports.
David holds a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology and is driven by a desire to have a lasting, positive impact on the health, performance and confidence of every student he works with.
Jack Robotham – Athletic Development Coach
Jack is an Athletic Development Coach and works across Years 7 to 12 to deliver structured, evidence-informed training programs that support long-term athletic development, physical literacy and sport-specific performance. Since joining TGS in 2023, Jack has played a key role in designing and implementing development pathways that cater to a wide range of student-athletes, from emerging performers to high-level competitors.
Jack brings a strong background in both professional and school-based sport, with previous roles at the Gold Coast Titans, North Queensland Cowboys and Burleigh Bears. A career highlight includes being part of the coaching team that led the Burleigh Bears QRLW squad to a premiership title in 2023. These experiences have shaped his coaching philosophy and given him a comprehensive understanding of the physical and personal development required at each stage of the athlete pathway.
He holds an ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning accreditation and a Master of Secondary Teaching in Health and Physical Education and Business. Jack is passionate about creating a high-support, high-expectation environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their development and grow into confident, capable young men—both on and off the field.
Mia Rennick – Athletic Development Coach
Mia contributing to the delivery of high-quality physical development programs across various year levels as a casual Athletic Development Coach. A former national-level track and field athlete, Mia brings firsthand experience in elite sport, alongside a strong academic foundation in human performance.
She holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and is an ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach. With a background rooted in Toowoomba, Mia is passionate about giving back to the local community through her involvement in youth sport, health and fitness initiatives. She has worked across a range of local organisations, supporting athletes and general populations in both performance and wellbeing contexts.
Mia’s work at TGS reflects her commitment to fostering positive, inclusive and empowering environments for young athletes. She draws on her own experiences in high-performance sport to motivate students and support their development—physically, mentally and personally.
