The Toowoomba Grammar School Old Boys’ Association fosters camaraderie and friendship between past and present students of the School

Reunions around the country, sporting matches between Old Boys and current boys, generational gatherings, dinner with boarders, a presence at home games, and social events are just some of the ways the Old Boys’ Association connects Old Boys with each other and with current staff and students.

The objectives of the Toowoomba Grammar School Old Boys’ Association (TGSOBA) are:

  • To promote the best interest of the School, having particular regard to its stated aims as a Great Public School of Queensland;
  • To co-operate with and support the Board of Trustees and the Headmaster in their administration of the School;
  • To assist the School financially or otherwise in order to enable the School to further its aims and objectives in providing students of the school with the best possible opportunities for their personal development in academic, cultural and sporting endeavours;
  • To foster camaraderie between past students of the School;
  • To promote friendship between past and present students of the School;
  • To co-operate with the Past Students’ Associations of other Schools in matters of common interest;
  • To co-operate with other Toowoomba Grammar School Auxiliary Bodies;
  • To do all such other things as are incidental to or conducive to the attainment of any or all of the above objectives.

The 2023 annual Old Boys’ Reunion Weekend will take place on Friday, 18 August – Sunday, 20 August 2023 coinciding with Grammar Downlands Day on Saturday, 19 August.

This year we feature reunion events for boys who were in Year 12 or would have finished in Year 12 in 2013, 2003, 1993, 1983, 1973,1963, 1953, 1943.

2022 was the year of the '2s'. Here are some photos from this great weekend.

The School Museum and Archives, located in the Old Boys’ Building, houses a collection of important and relevant artefacts generously donated by Old Boys and their families, staff and friends of the School. All new boys to the School are invited to visit the museum early in their first term and history students are encouraged to further research the School as part of their curriculum.

The museum’s curator and a productive and dedicated band of volunteers collectively contribute a great deal of time towards the museum’s operation, making it a highly valuable as an educational resource.

The museum is available as a research centre and is open to the general public on Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00am – 2:00pm during term time and can be contacted via email at A.Room@twgs.qld.edu.au
