James Knight
James Knight has made a life from telling (and listening to) stories from people across the world. His journeys have included covering Australian cricket tours during the ‘golden age’ of Warne, McGrath and the Waugh twins, and working as a volunteer in Africa and South America. He is driven by learning from people and places.
The author of seventeen books, including adult non-fiction and children’s fiction, James (Master of Education, specialising in Contemporary Literacy) regularly visits schools to conduct writing and storytelling workshops. This work has taken him as far afield as Botswana, India, and the USA. His workshops aren’t only aimed at academic improvement, but as inspiring our young people to find their voices and understand that stories can enhance self-esteem and wellbeing.
James grew up in the NSW country town, Gunnedah, where, through stories, his mother always told him ‘There’s a world to explore beyond the front gate.’
