We don’t just welcome your son to TGS, this is a journey for your entire family that continues long after graduation

We encourage families to become involved in our Parents and Friends’ Association and its various supporter groups and our Past Mothers’ Group. All of these groups host regular functions and activities throughout the year, encouraging a connected school community and ensuring that friendships forged during your son’s time at school can continue after graduation.

Parents and Friends’ Association

The Toowoomba Grammar School Parents and Friends’ Association is the major friend- and fundraising organisation of the School. It oversees activities such as the Grammar Art Show and a wide variety of events organised by the Supporters’ Groups.

P&F meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in Old Hall and all parents are welcome to attend meetings to provide ideas and suggestions on fundraising, expenditure and discuss issues that are relevant to the general School community. For parents who cannot attend in person, a link is provided prior to each meeting to enable online participation in the meeting (via Microsoft Teams). Please check the TGS App or the online School Calendar for specific details.

The P&F committee can be reached via email at tgspandf@twgs.qld.edu.au

P&F Supporters’ Groups

A major strength of the P&F is its Supporters’ Groups. The Supporters’ Groups are comprised of parents and friends with a common interest in a sport or activity.  Having first ensured that their plans meet the general requirements of the School and the P&F, Supporters’ Groups then direct the funds they have raised towards worthwhile projects and in some instances, to events, activities or merchandise relevant to their particular sport or activity. Families are welcome to be part of the Supporters’ Groups without being part of the P&F committee.

The TGS Supporters’ Groups include:

  • Grammar Art Show Committee
  • Basketball Supporters’ Group
  • Boarder Parents Supporters' Group
  • Cricket Supporters’ Group
  • Football Supporters’ Group
  • Junior School Supporters’ Group
  • Rugby Supporters’ Group
  • Supporters of the Arts
  • Swimming Supporters’ Group
  • Volleyball Supporters’ Group

Boarder Parents Supporters' Group

Boarding parents are encouraged to join the Boarder Parents’ Support Group. The group offers both new and old families a great opportunity to meet other parents from across all of the boarding houses as well as have the chance to hear from the Headmaster, Director of Boarding and other key TGS staff, and to provide feedback and suggestions on boarding in a relaxed forum.

Grammar Art Show

The Grammar Art Show is one of the biggest events on Toowoomba’s social calendar, attracting over 3,500 people, with both artists and visitors travelling from around Australia to attend this event. Held toward the end of Term 1 each year, the Art Show raises funds for School projects to benefit all TGS boys and also supports local charities.

As well as the main Art Show, other events include High Tea, Art Among Friends, a Café and an Art Trail around Toowoomba.

Parents are welcome to join the Art Show committee and further details are available by contacting twgs.artshow@gmail.com

Information about the Grammar Art Show can be found on Facebook and Instagram at @grammarARTshow, or the Grammar Art Show website.

Past Mothers’ Group

The Past Mothers’ Group provides the opportunity for mothers whose sons have left Toowoomba Grammar School to continue their friendships and involvement with the School. Whether your son finished last year or many years ago, you are warmly invited to join the Past Mothers’ Group.

The group generally meets five times per year.

If you would like to join the Past Mothers’ Group, please telephone School on (07) 4687 2500 or email tgs@twgs.qld.edu.au
