Finishing Touches to Grammar Art Show

The finishing touches are being put on one of Australia’s finest Art Shows. The 28th annual Grammar Art Show will showcase a diverse range of paintings, sculptures and jewellery, more than 1200 pieces from 250 artists. The Grammar Art Show has become such a prestigious exhibition that artists from all over Australia nominate their work months before the Show and, unfortunately, many don’t make the final cut. Last year the COVID lockdown prevented the show from being held in its normal format, so organisers went online and pieces were sold world-wide, resulting in a record sale figure of over $190,000. Due to the success of the online component, this year’s Art Show will be both mediums, online and “on the ground.” This year’s Feature Artist is Brisbane-based, Mel Simmonds who says she doesn’t like to label her style as it curbs her creativity.
