2021 Year 12 ATAR

Following the release of the 2021 Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) results, it gives me great pleasure to share Toowoomba Grammar School’s positive results with you.

Overall, we have seen another very good year, with comparable results to 2020. We congratulate our 2021 QCE graduates on their performance. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and efforts of all the teachers who have supported and guided these students throughout their education at Toowoomba Grammar School.

Here are some of the key details from the 2021 TGS QCE results with the previous year’s results provided in brackets.

  • The median ATAR is 15 (85.7), whilst the mean ATAR is 83.21 (82.4).
  • 6% of students (4%) achieved an ATAR of 99 or above compared with 1% across the
  • 23% of students (19%) achieved an ATAR of 95 or above compared with 5% across the State.
  • 35% of students (39%) achieved an ATAR of 90 or above compared with 10% across the

We congratulate the following students who achieved an ATAR of 99 or above: Aaron Palmer, Zen De Silva, Nick Nugent, Sathu Eswaran, Hugh Wilson, Peter Rathie, Zain Hafeez–Baig. Most importantly, we are aware of many of our 2021 Year 12 students who have achieved their goals in terms of their results and in gaining entry to the course or pathway of their choice.

We will now analyse the results in greater detail to determine strategies for further development of our academic program into the future. Looking ahead, we are confident of a strong showing from our cohort in 2022.

We are pleased to confirm Aaron Palmer as Dux of Toowoomba Grammar School with an ATAR of

99.85. Zen De Silva is Proxime Accessit, gaining an ATAR of 99.65.

I would like to acknowledge all Year 12 teachers, Heads of Department and Director of Studies, Dr Alison Young, for their work with this cohort. I congratulate our students on their achievements, which we will be pleased to recognise and celebrate at the Scholars’ Assembly on Friday 28 January 2022.
