TGS Athletes Have World Championships in Sight

Toowoomba Grammar School athletes will have eight representatives at the Australian Track and Field Championships from 26 March – 3 April after the boys excelled at the State Titles.

TGS brought home seven medals from States, with four current students and three Old Boys enjoying podium places at the titles which were held from March 3-6.

Old Boy (2019-20), Jai Gordon continued to impress, qualifying for the Australian U20 team in both the 100m and 200m sprints.

Another outstanding effort was that of 16-year-old, Year 11 student Matt Taylor, who won gold in the U20 Discus!

Our other competitors, Charlie Randall (Year 11), Hinata Inoue (Year 9), Sam Gladwin (Year 11), Taj Gordon (Year 10) and Old Boys Josh Roach (2019-21) and Harry Callow (2019-20) also have the chance at national representation, with these Australian Championships used as the trials for the Under 20 World Junior Championships and the Commonwealth Games trials.

Jeremy's Road to Paris 2024
