At a special School Assembly yesterday, Thursday, 2 February The TGS Old Boys' Association, represented by President, Mark Creedon (1973-77) and committee member, Nicholas Hess (1997-2001) presented the players in the 2022 Basketball 1st V with a Premiership Cap in recognition of their efforts and achievement of winning a GPS Premiership.

It has become a TGSOBA honoured tradition to make a presentation of a Premiership Cap to the players of a Premiership side as a recognition of their feat.

The Assembly was shown the earliest of these caps we still have, one that was presented to the players of the 1948 1st XV, one of the School’s most significant accomplishments in our Rugby history.

Mr Creedon told the gathering that although this Premiership can appear as only a significant event for those currently involved with the School, it is also a most honoured moment for the TGS Old Boys.

"There have been thousands of boys before them who have tread the courts, battled on the fields, clashed on the pitches, lapped the pools and strategically moved pieces. Thousands of boys have savoured playing with mates without experiencing a Premiership," he said.

We hope we can present many more of these special mementos to teams in the future.
