Orientation Events

Orientation morning for all boys who are new to the Junior School in 2022 - Friday, 5 November 2021

Commencing in the Junior School Assembly Hall, 8:25am - 10:20am.

New boys entering the Junior School in Prep through to Year 6 and their parents are invited to attend this orientation morning. Parents will have received an email from the School with additional details relating to the orientation morning. Please contact the enrolments office on (07) 4687 2517 or enrol@twgs.qld.edu.au if you did not receive this information.

Start of School Academic Year

Classes commence on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, beginning with a Junior School Assembly at 8:25am. Boys are to wear their "blues" summer uniform. Generally, boys may arrive between 8:00am and 8:25am and classes commence from 8:25am.

House Allocation and Interview

Your son will be allocated to one of our five Houses and he will remain in that House for the duration of his schooling at Toowoomba Grammar School. The House system provides for the key pastoral care and support (along with his class teacher), House service and House sport and activity programs.

You will have received your son's House allocation in an email from the School.

We would also appreciate you meeting your son's class teacher on Monday, 24 January 2022. Further details will be sent in due course.

The Parent Lounge

You will have been sent your Parent Lounge login ID via email from the School and you will have received the password via an SMS from the School.

The Parent Lounge is a secure site that provides centralised information and forms including academic results, academic reports and comments. It also includes medical details, your fee account and the ability to book teacher interviews, manage tours and excursions and so on. The Parent Lounge can be accessed via the link on the School's website and then clicking on “Parents”.

All important information in relation to entry into Toowoomba Grammar School is set out in the Parent Lounge under the “School Links” tab. This includes information such as Book and Stationery Lists, Uniform Price Lists and Health History Forms. You can also find much of this information on this webpage. Specifically in relation to Junior School boys, please refer to the “Junior School Day Boy” heading which is located in the Parent Lounge under the “School Links” tab.

School Supplied Laptop

All boys in the Junior School will be provided a laptop to support the School’s curriculum. The cost of this laptop is incorporated into the General Purpose Levy. The laptops will be provided to the boys in class during the first week of term.

Parents are required to have signed the Laptop User Agreement and Cyber Safety Agreement within the Parent Lounge prior to the boys commencing school. These agreements will be made available in early January 2022. The boys will also undergo general cyber-safety and IT awareness training before they are permitted to use the laptop at School.

Boys in Years 5 and 6 typically are required to take their laptops home during the school term.

Uniform Shop

Opening hours

The uniform shop will be open until Friday, 10 December from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The uniform shop will reopen on Wednesday, 5 January from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Medical Update

To update your son’s medical details (which you will have provided at the time of enrolment), please complete the Health History form and email to the Health Centre at f_health@twgs.qld.edu.au by Friday, 21 January.

Dietary Requirements

If your son has dietary requirements, please complete the Dietary Requirements form and email to the Health Centre at f_health@twgs.qld.edu.au by Friday, 21 January.

Sport and Activities Sign Up and Information

Toowoomba Grammar School offers a wide variety of sports, activities and clubs and all boys are encourage to participate.

Comprehensive information about Term 1 GPS sports can be found here. Boys in Years 5 and 6 should sign up for Term 1 GPS sports by Tuesday, 25 January via this link.

Junior School clubs and activities are advertised to parents and boys on a term by term basis.

After School Care

After school care is provided daily from 3:10pm until 6:00pm at a cost to parents. After school care is operated by an external provider: Hall-Thorpe Sports

Junior School Office Hours

The Junior School office will be closed from Friday, 26 November 2021 and will reopen on Monday, 17 January 2022. Office hours are 7:45am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:45am to 4:00pm on Fridays.

Junior School Parents' Morning Tea - Tuesday, 25 January

Parents are invited to attend a light morning tea on the day students commence the new school year. This will be held in the Junior School Hall, commencing at 8:45am.

It is imperative for the School have correct contact details for parents, guardians, carers and emergency contacts. To update your details, please click on the Parent Details drop down menu, select Address Details, make any necessary changes and click the blue Submit Changes button to save your changes.

Please check, and update if necessary, this information in Parent Lounge by Tuesday, 25 January.

To update the details, please click on the Student Details drop down menu, select General Details, select MCEECDYA Details on the left hand side, then click the blue Update box in the lower right corner. Make your changes then select Submit Changes. Please ensure your select each son (if applicable) from the drop down list on the top right.
