Medal Haul for TGS Sprint Swimmers

Toowoomba Grammar School Swimming Club members have again proved a force to reckon with in the pool.

The team has returned from the Queensland Sprint Championships with a haul of medals, with our newest swim sensation, Year 7 student, Kayden Gibson leading the way.

Gibson won two gold (50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly) and two bronze (50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke) in the 13YO boys division.

Another new addition to the TGS team, 16YO Zaniel Cooke won silver in the 50m breaststroke with Juert Eekens also taking silver in the 14YO boys 50m backstroke.

There were also outstanding performances from Year 10 students Beau Campbell and  Ryan Grimes who made the finals at a state championship for the first time while Year 11 student, Harrison Ward had four swims for four PBs and Year 12 student, Zach Reid swam three PBs in his three swims.

The results are a great lead into the tough GPS Championships on Friday, 5 March and the National Championships which are fast approaching in April.
