TGS Swimmers Dive Into Championships

Toowoomba Grammar School Swimming Club is hoping their U16 relay team will bring home the gold at the 2020 McDonald’s Queensland Championships at Chandler from 12-18 Dcember.

TGS has thirteen individual swimmers and an additional 13 relay swimmers competing in the Championships.

The U16 relay team is one of the strongest in the Club’s history, with National representatives Isaac Cooper, Alex Macey, Will Salmond and Jude Youens lining up as the team to beat.

Strong individual performances are also expected from Isaac Cooper, Jude Youens, Sienna Deurloo and Keeleigh Cauley-Gleeson.

The swimmers have been training seventeen hours per week in the pool and an additional three hours per week in the gym as part of their preparation for these Championships which is the major lead-in event to the 2021 Australian Age Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast 5-12 April.
