Gold! Gold! Gold! for Grammar Swimmers27th February 2020
Toowoomba Grammar Swimming Club member Isaac Cooper has once again proved he’s one to watch in the water after smashing yet another record; this time at the Queensland Sprint Championships in Brisbane on 15-16 February.
Isaac won gold in the Open 50m Backstroke, breaking the Mens 16 years Queensland record in the process with a time of 25.83. Isaac actually broken the Queensland record twice that day. He set the record earlier during the heats, then broke that in the final.
The 16-year-old Year 12 student also finished fourth in the Mens 16 years 50m Breaststroke.
Year 11 student, William Salmond also had a successful meet, bringing home two gold for the Mens 15 years 50m backstroke and the 50m butterfly and collecting a silver medal in the 50m freestyle.
While Year 8 student, Juert Eerkens won the Mens 13years 50m Backstroke breaking the 30 second barrier for the first time and Year 12 student, George Tighe won bronze in the Mens 16 years 50m butterfly.
A total of 29 TGS swimmers attended the meet, with ten swimmers competing in 15 different finals and 50 PB’s from 86 swims.
