Strong TGS Contingent in Joeys All Star Team18th October 2019
The Joeys All Star Australian Football team to tour Germany next year has been selected, with almost half the contingent from Toowoomba Grammar School.
The team was chosen based on performances at the recent Fraser Coast Joeys Mini World Cup that was held at Hervey Bay last week (September 29-October 4). More than 1,200 footballers from across Australia, New Zealand and Germany participated in the Carnival with the opportunity of selection for the All Star team.
The players were selected by football legend, former Socceroos Coach, Rale Rasic and former German footballer, Jackson Haussler.
Toowoomba Grammar School Year 12 student, Frank Mills was awarded the U/18 Player of the Tournament and has received a $7,500 fully funded trip to Germany as part of the Joeys All Star Team.
Five other TGS players were awarded $1,000 subsidies and named in the team including, Calum Proctor (Year 12), Fletcher McDonald (Year 12), Oliver Seckler (Year 11), Lachlan Brown (Year 10) and Tom Dwyer (Year 8), along with two other Toowoomba boys, Fletcher Skewes and Rhett Harris.
The Joeys All Stars will tour Germany for three weeks in July 2020, providing these young footballers with an amazing opportunity to play against some rising stars for the European League.
