Queensland Symphony Orchestra Plays at TGS22nd August 2019
Toowoomba Grammar School came alive with the sound of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on the afternoon of Wednesday, 21 August.
The QSO provided an amazing opportunity for a number of burgeoning young musicians from right around the South West Queensland region, hosting a Masterclass for advanced music students from as far away as Kingaroy and Dalby.
The Masterclass also focussed on the QSO’s Prodigy Project students which includes TGS Year 11 student, Julian Lachmund and Year 10 student, Oliver Schubert, along with six other Toowoomba students. The talented young group of musicians will play with the QSO at their Empire Theatre Concert on 28 September.
Instrument technique and musicianship strategies were explored for Violin, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet and Trombone.
Following the Masterclass, The QSO provided a free concert, open to not only those involved in the workshop, but to any music students and teachers from around the region to enjoy.
