TGS Cricket Camp Attracts Players from Victoria

The Toowoomba Grammar School annual Cricket Camp has developed such a good reputation that it has attracted participants from as far away as Victoria.

The three-day Camp (from January 21-23), for eight to thirteen year olds, has been held for over two decades and this year has attracted 155 players from right across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

The players have been drawing on the experience and knowledge of coaches from Toowoomba Grammar School along with eight head coaches from Brisbane and the Australian Cricket Institute.

They’ve enjoyed the first-class cricket facilities available at TGS, including the indoor cricket nets in the Glen McCracken Sports Centre and the nets and wickets on the Schools’ five ovals.

Monday and Tuesday were skills focused, working on various bowling techniques, batting, wicket-keeping and fielding.

On Wednesday the Camp wrapped up with the young cricketers putting those skills to the test and enjoying some competitive matches.
