Toowoomba Grammar School hosted the 2018 Queensland Cricket Academy Camp during the last week of the school holidays, to help develop some of the State’s best young cricketers.

Over 100 players aged 12-14 from right around Queensland attended the four day Camp which culminated with matches on Thursday and Friday.

Toowoomba Grammar School was represented by our QCA players, Year 9 students, Sam Anderson, Tom Sippell and Paul Draheim and Year 8 students Gem Ryan and Harrison Tzannes.

The Camp provides a great opportunity to gather Queensland’s top young players for holistic development, focussing on skills, strength and conditioning fitness and mental strategies.

The athletes participated in drills, training activities and educational sessions drawing on the skills and experience of special guests – Former Australian Women’s Cricket Team Captain, Jodie Fields, former Queensland Bulls Captain, Chris Simpson and current Brisbane Heat and Queensland Fire player, Georgia Prestwidge, along with members of the Queensland Cricket Academy including Queensland Cricket Coach and Talent Specialist, Richard Griffiths.
