Pastoral Care in a primary school begins with the class teacher.
When a child feels well supported and valued within the classroom context, learning and positive social development occur more readily. Beyond the classroom, support is provided by a part-time School Counsellor and senior staff who work closely with boys, staff and parents to ensure the wellbeing of everyone at the school.
School rules, guidelines and expectations for behaviour are clearly articulated to the boys. A peer support style program exists in the Junior School, with this being titled ‘Mates’ where older boys work with younger boys across a range of activities, thus allowing our upper primary boys to act as role models for our younger boys.
