TGS Scoops the Pool at Darling Downs Region Trials11th March 2019
Toowoomba Grammar School students scooped the pool at the Darling Downs Secondary Schools’ Regional Trials on Tuesday, 5 March.
The boys broke an incredible 17 records, while the TGS Swimming Club (boys and girls) broke 37 records in total on the day, that was almost half the program!
It was a truly incredible achievement and a great confidence boost for the boys leading into the GPS Championships, which was held in Brisbane on Friday, 8 March. The boys were also very successful at this event, with gold medals for Juert Eerkens: U13 Backstroke, Will Salmond: U15 Backstroke & Butterfly, Jude Youens: U14 Freestyle and Harry Wright: U13 Breaststroke.
The results follow months of hard work and dedication from not just the swimmers, but their parents and coaches with numerous very early morning and late-night training sessions part of the TGS swimming program.
