TGS Cricketers Bowl Them Over at States

Two Toowoomba Grammar School cricketers have been selected to represent Queensland at the 2019 National Cricket Championships.

Sam Anderson and Jem Ryan impressed selectors at last week’s U15 Boys’ Queensland Cricket Carnival in Mackay.

Sam captained the Darling Downs team which was comprised of seven TGS players including Paul Draheim, Harry Mieklejohn, Tom Sippel, Callum Galvin, Harrison Tzannes and Jem Ryan.

Jem was named the Carnival’s best All Rounder and was awarded the Lindsay Turnbull Trophy.

The Darling Downs team won three from their four matches and after rain affected the last day of play, the team finished fourth overall.

Sam and Jem will now face intensive training sessions to prepare for the national competition in September 2019.
