TGS is Icing on the Cake for Hospital Foundation

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation has received a much needed boost for their Breast Screen Toowoomba Project this afternoon.

Toowoomba Grammar School students recently sold cupcakes for Mother’s Day to raise money for the Foundation.

The cakes were kindly donated by Homestyle Bake, with the students icing them with pink frosting as a symbolic gesture for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Students purchased the cakes to give as a gift to significant women in their lives – be it Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties, or carers – and the initiative went down a treat!

The boys are well aware that breast cancer will affect one in eight women throughout their lives, and they wanted to show their support by raising funds for Breast Cancer Research.

This afternoon they presented a cheque for $460 to Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO, Alison Kennedy to go towards the $150,000 needed to purchase 3D Software for ultra-sound equipment at Breast Screen Toowoomba.

“The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is so grateful that we were the charity of choice for Toowoomba Grammar School,” said Ms Kennedy.

“We are aiming to purchase this software by September, so every cent is vital in reaching that target.”

The students also thanks Joanne McSweeney from Homestyle Bake for kindly donating the cupcakes.
